Year Running: 2016/2017
Credit level: F5
Additional Information   Only available to law students

Description

This module is one of the optional foundation subjects of the degree, which students can take to cover in more detail the Foundations of Legal Knowledge. The module critically examines the nature of property rights and applies the student's knowledge and understanding of these in the broader structure of land law.  The module will primarily explore, through a transactional framework, the system of registered titles to land as well as the unregistered land system/first registration of land. Within this transactional framework, co-ownership, trusts of land, overreaching, mortgages, and commercial interests (including leases, easements and restrictive covenants) will be considered.
